Work Experience

September 2022-now

Lecturer in mathematics and referent for the Propedeutic Center

I teach propedeutic classes at EPFL and I joined the Propedeutic Center of EPFL as a referent for Analysis to help support the teaching of the first year of EPFL, across all sections.

EPFL, Switzerland

April 2022-August 2022

Postdoc

After finishing my PhD, I stayed the last few months of my contract as a postdoc in the group led by Kathryn Hess.

EPFL, Switzerland

Education

October 2018 - March 2022

PhD

Under the supervision of Kathryn Hess

EPFL, Switzerland

The first years of my PhD were on persistent homology applied to images in the context of computer vision. I also studied the duality between the persistent homology of dual digital image constructions. The second part consisted in studying the space of barcodes from a combinatorial and geometric point of view and its relation to the space of trees.

2016-2018

University of Geneva

2013-2016

Teaching

Since 2022

Think Tank Teaching Sustainability

Since the Climathics workshop, we organise weekly meetings to discuss how to implement more sustainability in teaching mathematics and science.

2018-2022

EPFL

Students Supervision

I supervised and co-supervised several bachelor students (in mathematics and life science) during their semester projects. Topics included: Euler calculus, graphs applied to brain networks, topological tree morphology.

2018-2022

EPFL

Euler course

At EPFL, I teach a class for the Euler course, a special program for bright students in school, who attend university-level classes. I am currently teaching a course called "Algebraic Structures" after teaching "Geometry I" for a year.

2016 - 2018

University of Geneva

Teaching Assistant

I started teaching bachelor students as a TA during my Master at the University of Geneva. I taught several hours a week students in algebra, geometry and analysis.

Events & Academic Life

2018-now

Events & Organisation

EPFL

I organised a workshop on mathematics and climate change. I was a co-organiser of the Applied Topology Seminar at EPFL. I co-organised a workshop for young PhD students at IST Vienna in April 2019 and the Young Topologist Meeting at EPFL in July 2019.

2019-2021

Academic life & Admin

EPFL

PhD representative for the mathematics department.

2013-2018

Academic life & Admin

University of Geneva

During my studies at the University of Geneva, I was deeply involved in the life of the university. I was president of the Science Student association during the academic year of 2016-2017 and I was part of the organising comity of science job fairs.

Outreach

2023

Teacher Training Organiser

Comission Romande Mathématiques

In September 2023, I will organise the teaching training for highschool teachers on maths and big challenges.

2022

Finalist "My Thesis in 180 seconds"

EPFL

2021

Logic workshop

I presented my thesis at the contest "My Thesis in 180 seconds". The video is available (in French) here.

Creation of a logic workshop "maths to understand the world" that was presented to classes of the outreach service of EPFL and public schools.

2016-2018

University of Geneva

The mathematic department of the University of Geneva organises a lot of outreach activities. I animated workshops in mathematics for schools with the Mathscope, and I participated in a few outreach conferences in Europe. I supervised highschool students while they were following classes at university through the Athena program.
